This World Poetry Day (celebrated on the 21st of March) Hendrick’s Gin invited the curiously minded individual to mix up a Clover Club tipple. It’s sure to make for an exciting recital, or evoke true inspiration for the hopeful poet.
Some people are not entirely enthralled by the idea of an egg white in their beverage. As the Clover Club cocktail seduces the palate in a way that no other cocktail does.
Once it's mastered, the results are particularly delicious and worth the time and effort – much like most poetry. Poetry evokes a concentrated awareness that’s sure to take you places. As a renowned Victorian poet, Robert Browning once recited, “He gazed and gazed and gazed and gazed, Amazed, amazed, amazed, amazed.” Perhaps he was gazing at a bottle of Hendrick’s; or perhaps he had just tasted the Clover Club cocktail? We may never know for sure, but you can endeavour to find out by tasting this peculiar tipple for yourself.
Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake very well and fine strain the contents into a cocktail glass.
