61 + ate

After sneaking a peak inside of this cute eatery, I had to see what it was all about. 61 + ate is a cute new cafe, practically hidden on Loop Street.

The decor is inviting, the walls are sprinkled with art, and the music is smooth . I was so excited to see the menu listed a banting granola dish - yogurt with nuts and a berry coulis - but felt like the portion size and the care that went into the dish did not justify the R70 price tag. My boyfriend ordered one haddock scotch egg and one pork scotch egg, each came with a bit of salad, and we thoroughly enjoyed these - well seasoned and delicious!

The cappuccinos were good and came promptly after we ordered and were accompanied by a small, delicious little low-sugar rusk. Most mornings I drive by and see there is a tempting special written on the chalkboard outside - I will definitely give this a try next time!
