Owner's description

At Le Venue the al fresco deck is a great spot to enjoy delicious food on sunny days while sipping on award-winning J.C. Le Roux Méthode Cap Classique and sparkling wines, with a gourmet braai area a welcome addition especially for private functions.Breakfasts that feature regularly on the menu, which changes weekly, include a “vineyard breakfast” of truffle centred scrambled egg, pesto button mushrooms, fried cocktail tomatoes, candied bacon, mini rösti and chipolatas. The French toast layered with grilled bananas and bacon, topped with Canadian maple syrup and crispy prosciutto ice cream stands out on the menu. With their natural affinity to bubbly, oysters and sushi are always on the lunch menu. Other dishes include Thai beef salad, a combination with J.C. Le Roux Pinot Noir Rosé or spicy Portuguese chicken fillet. Desserts and bubbly are also a perfect match especially the red velvet cake and La Fleurette crème Brule.

We had our anniversary lunch in December at Le Venue. The upgraded restaurant is beautifully decorated, and if you love JC Le Roux's bubbly you will probably enjoy the experience. The lunch menu is fairly simple with only a handful of dishes on offer, if a little pricey - presumably to cater for the foreign tourist market. My husband and I both had the sirloin served with veg and chips, ordered medium and the steak arrived well done and slightly charred around the edges. Not the best we've had by any means. The waiter wasn't around very much but I put this down to the reopening and possibly some new staff.
