    Jimmy the fish is absolutely amazing . Their food and service and the awesome fireplace works so well especially in winter . So awesome !
    Ons het gisteraand (Donderdag, 4 September 2014) soos menigde ander aande by Jimmy the Fish op Stellenbosch gaan eet. Tot ons teleurstelling…..
    Die diens en die kos was soos altyd baie aangenaam, maar daai arrogante bestuurderes….. sy is nou `n HELE ander storie!!
    Nadat ons heerlik geeet het bring die kelnerin vir ons die rekening en ons let op dat die 30% afslag op die “combo’s” nie ingereken is op die rekening nie, ons vra die kelnerin om dit asseblief te gaan regstel. Die arme vrou kom terug amper in trane want hulle kan nie dit regstel nie en sy sal nou die verskil moet betaal. Nou ons almal weet kelners werk hard vir hulle geld en het `n baie ondankbare werk. Ons vra die kelnerin om asseblief haar bestuurder te roep – die arme vrou was in `n toestand sy smeek ons om nie die bestuurder te roep nie, haar verskoning – hulle gaan dit op haar “UIT HAAL” as ons weg is. Sjoe, dis nogal erg as mens in `n werk moet sit en bang moet wees vir die persoon wat eintlik daar is om jou te help sou jy dit nodig kry. Sy het toe mettertyd die bestuurder gaan roep.
    Nou soos die bestuurderes dit aan ons verduidelik het is dit nie moontlik om die sisteem te “override” nie, nou ek verstaan nie – hoe kan enige persoon `n sisteem installeer wat nie kan regstellings maak nie – asseblief verduidelik dit vir my – of is dit dalk net die onopgevoede, onopgeleide of sommer net plein onnosele bestuurderes Marzanne Mostert??
    Sy het toe nog die vermetelheid om nadat ek mooi gevra het dat sy vir my die REGTE rekening bring, `n“cheeky” houding in te slaan, daarna loop sy weg en so met die weg loop mompel sy oor hoe ombeskof ek is REGTIG!!! Ek het mos mooi gevra. Sy het nie eers die ordentlikheid om dit voor my te se nie, nee sy mompel dit soos sy weg stap tot die verbasing van ander vriende van ons wat by `n tafel laer af gesit het. Die ergste is ek het nou nog nie die regte rekening gekry nie, sy skryf met haar hand `n rekening uit en stuur dit buitentoe en gaan kruip soos `n lafaard in die kombuis weg.
    Hierdie tiepe mense met hulle arrogante, onbeskofde “cheeky” houdings veroorsaak dat plekke soos Jimmy the Fish onder gaan. Ek sal hierdie op elke liewe moontlike webtuiste waarop julle adverteer of waarop mens resensies kan plaas deel en nodeloos om te sê sal julle restaurantjie ons nooit weer sien nie.
    I had dinner at Jimmy the fish a couple of days ago. A lovely lady, Thandi was our waiter. The restaurant was clearly very busy. The service was great and the food spectacular. She was very friendly and very patient.
    The only complaint I had was with one of the Managers. (Steven) He was clearly new since he was not dressed in a Jimmy the Fish uniform like the other manager. The table next to us was clearly upset and made a complaint to him. He then proceeded to rudely address the waiter in full view of all her customers. I did not see her smile the whole evening after that.
    I have been going to Jimmy the fish for years and will continue to do so, but if this is the view staff is being treated I will without a doubt boycott the restaurant and suggest that other people do the same.
    Well, the reviews really sound terrible. I am visiting from Mallorca where I have been living the past 4 years. My, friend, a well known winemaker in Stellenbosch asked me out and me doing the booking came across the reviews.
    Will try it and then comment and see if they have improved.
    We visited this establishment thios past weekend (19th January 2014). Well, sad to say nothing has changed simnce the first comment dating back to January 2013. Service is slack. Placed an order @ 4:10pm received our food just before 5:30pm.Whe i complained the attitude of the one Manager on Duty was totally unacceptable and arrogant. Received no apology from the Manager and whn i complained to the other Manager although he apologized did not pusue the matter further with the arrogant little twot that had so much attitude that it almost became a physical confrontation. If this is how this place treat their client (we from Johannesburg) then i must say it will be to their detriment.

    I am still fumimg at the manner in which we were treated, and hope that the owner reads this and revert, as the frontline people (managers) has no peoples skills and are totally arrogant.
