Owner's description

The Radium Beerhall is said to be the oldest surviving bar and grill in Johannesburg, and its got the historic ambience to prove it. Look out for the live jazz nights. A feature to note is its embossed tin ceiling that apparently vibrates in tune with the live music.

I guess it can be hard to pour a pint of Guinness. In fact I guess it can hard to keep the pipes in a pub clean. Its also feasible that changing the barrel every once in a while can be hard and arduous My beloved Irish stout tasted like it had been left in a car on a hot day with the windows shut. Before being sucked through a long hosepipe suffering from Ozonolysis, Galvanic action and Chlorine-induced cracking. I'm finally guessing it was put in a centrifuge with some kind of metallic residue scraped from an old sink.

Lively and chilled, real and unpretentious. Few good beers and ales on tap. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere - barmen and patrons honest and with easy straight-to-the-point service. Great prawns and chips - and great bar counter - you'll eat on the bar top. Great after work stop over.
