we were 3 ladies who went for a high tea 15 May 2021.very dissapointing. The savouries was dry and tasteless. The salmon mini burger had no butter on just a dry old bun with salmon. The egg mayonaise was dry and tasteless. The small muffin was so dry we could not eat it.The quiche was cold..service was bad..definately not a good experience
Not sure if this is the right place to review the Vineyard's breakfast offering... however, I would happily rate it as one of the top breakfasts in Cape Town. R110 gets you the continental breakfast, while for R185 you can enjoy the full continental plus hot cooked breakfast (all coffees and juices included too). The best bit is that you can change anything you like on the menu - so if you feel like the Eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham, and a side of kippers, they will happily oblige! Said Benedict is served on a homemade English muffin, which tastes as if it has had the lightest brushing of bacon fat, adding to the delicious richness of the dish. If feels like such a treat to spend a morning here. Service is old school, but adequate. Best thing to do after breakfast is enjoy a wander in the beautiful gardens.
Beautiful outside setting for those warm summery evenings. The service is a bit slow but the food is good and prices are very reasonable!
I am sad to say that this restaurant is in dire need of an overhaul. The menus where all badly worn which was explained to us as being 'vintage'. Definitely not the case!

The service was pretty much non-existent. It took 3 and a half hours for our meal from sitting down to leaving and not once were we asked if it was going well or wanted top ups on our drinks. We had to flag down someone to get a refill of water.

The food was alright. Nothing spectacular and certainly not what I've come to expect from the Vineyard.

Just no atmosphere, no service and average food. What exactly did we pay for?

The food presentation is lovely and all of the elements in the dishes come together as a whole beautifully. The ostrich steak was soft and juicy and the salmon trout full of unexpected flavors. Highlight of the evening was the cheesecake - divine.
