    UberEats order - Yamada Roof - missing avo- and improper packaging (food arrived in one big container so it moved around etc) ... this has happened twice. The manager wouldn't even apologize the first time and said customers have to specifically ask for the avo - I asked the second time around as well as asked for proper packaging and both requests were ignored. This is specific to Birnham - the other Yamada in Rivonia is perfect.
    I do not post reviews unless an establishment really earns it. Yamada Blubird just has. I made a booking four days ago, yet when we arrived there was no record of the booking. The staff was very offhand and disinterested, unenthusiastic, unresponsive, I had to get up from the table to get our waitresses attention for something. The sushi was bad, the rice was unseasoned and stale, dry and hard. All the chefs behind the counter were working with the food with no gloves on, handling and dishing food with no concern for hygiene. I ordered a lunchbox, marked on the menu as "Lunchbox - R95", no differentiation, when the bill arrived I was charged more and told it was because I ordered Salmon, I pointed out the the menu made no differentiation between various types of lunch box and they cannot just adjust the prices as they wished. I was also overcharged for the glass of wine I had ordered. Last time I will go there, and beware other sushi lovers, this is not the place to go.
    I was at Yamada in Blubird on Thursday night and then was very ill from food poisoning! I used to love Yamada but after such a bad experience I will not be going back.
    Last night the 19th February I took my two adult kids for dinner to Yamada Sushi (Bluebird). This is the fist time I have ever written any type of complaint regarding appalling service and food. The service was non existent, the waiters congregate inside and couldn't be bothered to serve outside where we were sitting, coupled to the excessive delays in getting the sushi, to finally the stale taste of the dishes (almost like the food had been standing for hours). We all ordered the eat as much as you can special which was an absolute waste as we could hardly eat the food, it was dry and stodgy and the beef and noodle floating in oil and so salty it was inedible. After excessive aggravation with the waiters we asked to see the manager to which we were informed it won't help as he doesn't speak english. We all felt sick from the food overnight and as a warning I must warn any possible customers to avoid this place at all costs. It was the biggest waste of R700.00 I have ever had.
    When I was at Yamada 6 months ago, the place was riddled with cockroaches. I gave it another chance to be met with poor service for only 2 of us. After 45 minutes of not receiving our simple sushi order, we went to cancel and pay for our drinks. They came out the kitchen then with a plate of sushi which looked inedible so we moved on to have amazing sushi elsewhere. The staff were rude and unapologetic. It is the first negative review I have ever written.
