Asian tapas, oysters and bubbly

There is no doubt that Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands is one of South Africa’s foodie meccas – a fine food and wine gourmet zone in a breathtaking setting.

A relative newcomer to the scene, Bouillabaisse – a Champagne and oyster bar as well as seafood restaurant – has been making waves in the last while as a fabulous new addition to the culinary landscape.

Bouillabaisse, brought to us by Belgian chef, Camil Haas, known for his outstanding cuisine at Klein Oliphantshoek, offers Asian tapas alongside an open-plan kitchen – perfect to relax and watch the chefs.

As co-owner Ingrid Haas says: “You dont eat at Bouillabaisse. As you browse through our menu of haute cuisine dishes, you taste, sample and share an array of flavours with a definite seafood twist.

Choose a tasting menu to share (tuna sashimi, spring rolls, veal won tons, oysters, prawn and vegetable tempura), or try one of their signature dishes: bouillabaisse or mussels in Belgian beer.

Very sophisticated and fresh. Lots of great bubbly. Enough said.
