Boschendal Style Award nominee: Tashas Le Parc

Our latest nominee for the Boschendal Style Award is elegant and sophisticated, offering sophisticated dining in the centre of the big city.

The restaurant:

Part of the national Tashas franchise, Tashas Le Parc carries through the values of the brand, whilst still retaining a charming identity of its own.

The food:

Wholesome café-style food is on offer here. Scrumptious breakfast options include bacon rosti with tomatoes, rocket, poached egg and forestiere sauce, and pea and goats cheese omelette with wild mushrooms, rocket and gruyere. We also love the sound of the coconut French toast. Looking for something healthy? Tuck into one of the gourmet salads, like the beautiful golden pear salad with caramelized baby peas, walnuts, spinach, avo, bacon, gorgonzola and Balsamic toffee dressing.

The x-factor:

“90% of the store was custom made,” says franchise founder, Natasha Sideris – and it shows.

Interior architect Neydine Bak was responsible for the design, which took over 12 months to complete.

“The challenge for this store was that the seating area is located in the middle of the mall walkway”, explains Neydine. She got around this situation by treating the area as an outdoor space. Screens were custom built to create a sense of place in the large, open area. At the bar, the hand-crafted teal and gold wall cladding, marble counter and quirky hanging installation of crockery and cutlery shapes, blend contemporary finishes with the old-world charm of a French patisserie.

Does Tashas Le Parc have what it takes to win the Boschendal Style Award at the Eat Out DStv Food Network Restaurant Awards?
