We have to admit to being currently obsessed with Celeb Feasts with Zola, an entertaining new cooking talk show by award-winning cookbook author, food stylist and our very own restaurant editor chef Zola Nene – which airs every Tuesday at 9.30pm on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161).
In each weekly episode of the show, chef Zola Nene invites a local celebrity and their mentor(s) to her kitchen to make mouth-watering South African meals and share fond memories and moments that have shaped their lives.

We’re not the only ones obsessed. Celeb Feasts with Zola, which is currently on its sixth of 13 episodes, is a hit with local viewers. The very first episode trended countrywide on Twitter and the show doubled its viewership thereafter. So far, celebrity guests have included the likes of comedian Trevor Gumbi, 7de Laan actress Nobuhle ‘Aggie’ Mahlasela, rapper and actress Boity Thulo, the Mampofu siblings (actor Oros Mampofu, twin brother Prince Mampofu and actress Lunathi Mampofu), actress Denise Zimba and DJ brother duo Kyle and Austin Cassim. The next episode, episode 7, will feature TV presenter Katlego Maboe and his best friend Stephen Tsebela.
We cheekily asked Zola who her dream international guest would be and our restaurant editor’s resolute answer was Oprah Winfrey herself. (We’re torn between freaking out entirely at the idea of this team-up and wearing out our thumbs tweeting the queen of talk shows to make this happen!)
Catch Celeb Feasts with Zola every Tuesday on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) at 9.30pm.
