Iconic bakery SCHOON opens first Gauteng store

The SCHOON brand, by owners Fritz and Chanelle Schoon, continues its evolution after opening bakery-cafés in both Stellenbosch and Somerset West in the Western Cape. The SCHOON team has now taken to Instagram to announce the exciting news that they will be taking their brand up north to open a branch on New Road Bridge in the Midrand in February.

While the finer details are yet to be revealed, locals can look forward to glorious freshly-made breads, pastries like pasteis de nata or apple-and-almond friands, and flaky croissants. We’re pretty certain SCHOON will also be serving up perfect eggy brekkies and good coffee, too.

SCHOON Manufactory Café in Midrand is set to open next month. Stay tuned to Eat Out for further developments.
