Jumping on one of the year’s hottest trends and right in time for spring is Johannesburg’s tropical new poké bar, ONO Poké Eatery, which has opened in Illovo. The fresh new eatery, which is suited to both sit-in and takeaway meals, is located on Corlett Drive in Illovo and opened its doors two weeks ago. What’s on the menu? Expect the likes of overnight oats for breakfast, chocolate protein pudding and matcha bowls, as well as poké bowls filled with brown, black or white rice, with proteins of raw salmon and tuna or cooked chicken and tofu, finished off with healthy toppings of your choice. There are also house bowls in medium and large sizes, which include fresh trimmings of seasonal salsa, edamame beans, avo, zingy dressings and slaws.

The ONO team is also dedicated to sourcing fresh and completely sustainable local produce for the menu, and all packaging is made from biodegradable material.
