The Life Grand Cafés at Waterfall Corner, The Club, The Mall of the South and Hyde Park have become favourites on the Gauteng food scene. The fifth and latest branch to join the group is set to open on 28 April 2016 along with the anticipated unveiling of the newly built Mall of Africa.

CEO and designer Maira Koutsoudakis explains the location choice for the new restaurant: “It’s in prime position at the main entrance of the mall with a fantastic indoor and outdoor location”. Known for its lavish décor and stylish designs, the group’s new branch will have a sweeping central bar made of aged brass and teal marble and curved lounge seating within the dramatic double-volume space. Tropical details and hints will also allow guests to enjoy a relaxed day or evening ambiance while dining.

As for the food, Maira explains, “We take food and drink very seriously at our Life Grand Cafés, and regular patrons know that they can expect fresh, delicious soul food.” In addition to the salad bar and raw bar, guests can also look forward to getting their healthy fix with fresh sushi and sashimi of seafood flown in daily. There will also be a barista station for hot brews and a decadent patisserie counter with home-baked pastries and cakes.

The Mall of Africa is set to open on 28 April 2016 and will be South Africa’s biggest single-phase shopping mall development to date.
