‘Food is everything, a way of life. It should excite you with the perfect balance of textures, temperatures and tastes, creating a sensual experience like no other.’
We’ve all been waiting on the edge of our seats for Franck Dangereux’s new venture to be up and running.
The Foodbarn at the Noordhoek Farm Village has been open for a few months – Franck, together with partner Peter du Bruin, has revamped the restaurant entirely and brought his excellent and legendary cooking skills to the table – things have fallen into place and the time is nigh to check it out.
Known for his passionate approach to cooking and all things food, Franck left La Colombe earlier this year, after crafting a multi-award winning fine dining restaurant (amidst a bit of controversy!) to start this new venture in a Cape Dutch style barn, with more down-to-earth fare.
The Foodbarn is a restaurant as well as delicatessen – with a bakery and patisserie to boot. Croissant connoisseurs know that there is a big difference between well-made gems and the quick el cheapo ones at the cornerstore.
A Frenchman making them of course adds more bliss to the experience – time to try out Franck’s. With fresh, local food – all made on the premises – this promises to be a good one.
Franck has also written a great cookbook entitled Feast, published by Quivertree.
