Arno Janse led The Kitchen at Maison to a Top 10 spot last year. So when we heard he was leaving Franschhoek to open up a restaurant on Kloof Street in Cape Town, we got pretty excited.
A visit to Janse & Co might mean macarons dotted with orange marigolds; leeks dripping in brown butter and dotted with smoked almonds; glorious octopus carpaccio with lemon cream and strawberries; and cauliflower served with umami-rich shaved, dried oysters. Also on the menu: homemade charcuterie, a range of quirky, delicious wines, and a wonderful moody atmosphere.
