I tried Gallaghers with a Groupon offer which is currently on at the moment I went there on Friday night for dinner and I am afraid this place is using Groupon to scam customers. The food is NOTHING like advertised, the 'lamb shank' option of the meals is just pieces of lamb, off the bone thrown on some store bought/shelf macaroni. The taste was even worse then one could imagine. The wine is priced exorbitantly and that's how they are selling cheap food, at cheap prices and making the margin on the wine. The meal took 3 hours end to end from receiving the main to the dessert. I use Groupon on quite often, and never had an experience like this. I feel utterly deceived, the guy is obviously a great marketer and con artists but terrible at running a restaurant. The fish my partner had was definitely not fresh and also cooked and served on a plate of checkers risotto and you will find yourself paying well over R200 for a bottle of the Beyerskloof Pinotage, a ridiculous markup. such a disaster of an evening.
