Owner's description

Tasting Room

Producing wine since 2011, they now offer a total of 6 different wines between the two ranges. These wines are available for tasting in the tasting lounge daily. To compliment the wines, they have introduced a few food options to enjoy alongside a tasting, glass or bottle of wine. The foods include an artisan cheese board, a canapé board and a Chef's Lunch Special (only available over weekends). With wine being their focus, they introduce wine and canapé pairing experience in order to showcase their wine and exhibit their versatility. They take a different approach to their pairings and break the traditional rules of white wine with white meat.

Wine Bar

Their latest venture, the Wien Bar is described as a contemporary and clean design meets fine wine, craft beer and sushi. They have joined forces with brands such as Sushi Box, Darling Breweries and Cluver & Jack Cider to offer something different on the Constantia Wine Route. Situated below their Tasting Room, this new space offers a place to sit longer and enjoy wine and bubbly by the glass or bottle complimented by plates of sushi from their pop-up kitchen, Sushi Box. To offer a bit of diversity in their new space, they are more than happy to have Darling Breweries on board with their Slow Beer and Native Ale on tap, with the prospect of an exclusive Beau Constantia Brew in the pipeline and are one of the first to offer Cluver and Jack's Craft Cider.

This restaurant so deserves their spot in the Top 10. Food service and ambience are definitely right up there with the best. So reasonably priced for what you get - 8 tapas sharing plates for R390 per person. And they're so good you'll scrape the sauce off the plates. Oysters to start are fresh and delicious and the honey and lavender creme to end is superb. Wish we could go more often!!!!
Living in Hout Bay we enjoy a leisurely lunch on the surrounding wine estates but until recently we weren't aware that Beau Constantia also offers that service. What a pleasant surprise, we opted for the Sushi option and weren't disappointed. The food was great if a bit pricey but than the portion are large enough to share. Our only criticism was the service which was a bit slack and unprofessional. We certainly will come back.
