We had just arrived in Clarens for a quick get-away and we were starving because we were in a rush to leave and hadn’t had a chance to eat breakfast yet. We felt like a pizza and saw that Mosaic served good ones. We arrived at the restaurant at about 14:00 and my husband and I each ordered a pizza (both different). We waited at least an hour for the pizza which was ridiculously long because there were only about 4 tables in the restaurant. There is a sign on the one side of the restaurant which arrogantly tries to justify their shockingly slow service. This was not the worst, about 4hours after we left the restaurant we both started vomiting and it just got more violent throughout the night. The next day my husband went to Mosaic to tell them what had happened. He explained the situation and asked to get reimbursed for the pizza which is only fair. The manager spoke to the owners and they said that we can’t prove anything and basically implied that we were lying about the situation. (What kind of a business belittles their customers???) They have refused to refund our money and have been quite rude to us. We’re very disappointed with how they handled the situation and will not return and will advise against visiting this restaurant. We think that it may be a hygiene problem because we both had different pizzas and didn’t share them and both of us were sick. The pizzas were also the only food we had eaten all day so it cannot be blamed on pervious meals. Talking to a few locals, they have also had bad experiences with this restaurant. At least the staff were super friendly (which is why I’m giving them a star) but we’re highly disappointed the restaurant!! We advise against trying this restaurant!
