Gåte Restaurant’s Paul Prinsloo to cook bespoke dinner with Swedish chef

On 22 and 23 July 2022, Gåte Restaurant head chef Paul Prinsloo will collaborate on a 10-course menu with Swedish chef Jerome Ianmark Calayag. The chefs are both S. Pellegrino Young Chef Academy competition winners (Paul won the Africa & Middle East regional final of the competition in 2019 and Jerome won the overall competition in 2019–2021).

S.Pellegrino and Aqua Panna are committed to nurturing the next generation of chefs and believe that talented chefs have the ability to inspire people.

Paul and Jerome’s cooking will come together to create a meal that you won’t experience ever again. The duo will each cook five courses, with Jerome’s courses being plant based. He won the S.Pellegrino competition with a dish called “Humble Vegetables”, which showcased sustainably sourced Nordic produce. Jerome says that the dish represents his personal and professional journey as a chef.

The 10-course meal with wine pairing costs R2250 per person and bookings can be made online.
