How many people can say they’ve had lunch cooked for them by Luke Dale-Roberts of The Test Kitchen, Peter Tempelhoff of Greenhouse, Eric Bulpitt of FABER at Avondale (formerly of The Restaurant at Newton Johnson), Gregory Czarnecki of The Restaurant at Waterkloof, Giles Edwards of Salt Cellar, and Michelle Theron of Pierneef à La Motte – all in one day? (Not to mention canapés prepared by reigning Chef of the Year, Scot Kirton of La Colombe.)
This unbelievable line-up will come together in collaboration with Pete Goffe-Wood to create a multiple-course feast for the senses at this year’s Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards at the Grand Arena at Grand West in Cape Town on Sunday 20 November 2016.
The Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards recognise the top ten restaurants in South Africa as well as other prestigious industry accolades, including the Eat Out S.Pellegrino Acqua Panna Chef of the Year, and the winners of the Eat Out Boschendal Style Award, the Eat Out Nederburg Rising Star, the Eat Out Lannice Snyman Lifetime Achievement Award, the Eat Out Nespresso Service Excellence Award, and the Eat Out Wine Service Award. There are also two new awards this year: the Eat Out Retail Capital New Restaurant of the Year and the Eat Out Woolworths Sustainability Award.
“Having a Sunday lunch cooked by these incredible chefs is a food lover’s dream come true. We are so very excited about the line-up, which will see months of planning culminate in one spectacular meal,” says Aileen Lamb, general manager of Eat Out. “This year’s awards simply should not be missed by anyone who loves ground-breaking food and wine. It is going to be an unforgettable sensory experience.”
