Where pensioners can get a great deal in Pretoria

Quite a few restaurants in Pretoria already offer specials to folks with more “life experience”. These offers vary from specific meals and special discounts to “pensioner’s days”. Here are some of our favourites.

Café on Main (Irene)

Tuesday is Pensioner’s Day at Café on Main. Expect to pay 10% less if you are over 60 years.

Lime Tree Tea Garden (Centurion)

You can combine your passion for gardening with a spot of tea and cake at this delightful tea garden every Wednesday with 10% off for all silver citizens.

Goya’s Hanging Garden (Rietondale)

Goya’s offers a pensioner’s breakfast special (R45) consisting of two eggs, two rashers of bacon and a slice of artisanal bread (choose from ciabatta, sourdough or rye). The special also includes either a rooibos tea or cappuccino. If you would like to select from the regular menu, you can get 10% off.

Mozambik (Moreleta Park)

This traditional eatery offers flavoursome dishes with Portuguese and Mozambican flair. Pensioners receive a generous 20% off their meals on Tuesdays.

My Cousin Restaurant (Montana Park)

The Plain Jane Breakfast consists of two eggs, a rasher of bacon, a slice of toast, grilled tomato and baked beans. It also includes a free coffee, tea or cappuccino. This breakfast offers great value at only R29,90. For the same price, you could also enjoy 100g of chicken with chips or salad and a tartar dipping sauce. Add a milkshake for just R10.

In the mood for pizza or pasta? Eat in Italian will reward both your tastebuds and your pocket with 20% off their delicious, traditional dishes every Wednesday as a special to pensioners.

The Godfather Restaurant (Midstream)

The Godfather offers pensioners 10% off their total bill on weekdays between 12 and 4pm and as well as on Monday evenings.
