Time Out Market announces additional star-studded line-up of chefs and restaurants

Leading up to the much-anticipated opening of the Time Out Market Cape Town, four additional vendors joining the market have been revealed.

Patrons can look forward to savouring dishes from chef Peter Tempelhoff‘s Ramenhead, Matt Manning’s Culture Wine Bar, Eugene Smith’s YARD pizza, and new concept Barakat by chef duo Anwar Abdullatief and Yolani Abraham.

Known globally for bringing the best of the best under one roof, the Time Out Market concept will make its way to Cape Town later this year. The market will be home to 13 local chefs and restaurants, four bars and one stage, to create a gastronomical and cultural experience unlike any other in the city and the continent.

The additional line-up follows on from the announcement of the first five vendors, which features Bertus Basson’s De Vrije Burger, Vusi Ndlovu’s new concept MLILO ‘Fires of Africa’, The Melting Pot Seafood, Unframed Ice Cream and How Bao Now.

“We have put great emphasis on curating a line-up that is unique to our beautiful region – our mission is to celebrate the best local talent from award-winning to up-and-coming, give guests a local experience that is exciting yet accessible, and be a meaningful addition to this fantastic city and the V&A Waterfront, ” says Russ Meyer, General Manager of Time Out Market Cape Town.

The star-studded line-up continues

Ramenhead

The team behind FYN, a globally lauded and award-winning Eat Out 2-star restaurant, chef Peter Tempelhoff, Ashley Moss and Service and Beverage Director Jennifer Hugé, will be opening a branch of their latest venture, Ramenhead, at the market.

The restaurant will offer authentic Japanese ramen with a local twist.

Barakat

Husband and wife chef duo Anwar Abdullatief and Yolani Abrahams will be opening a new restaurant at the market called Barakat. The new halal fine-dining concept aims to offer a fresh take on traditional Cape Malay cuisine. The menu will feature dishes such as tomato “breedie” and Ou mense onder die kombers, which is slow-braised ossobuco cooked in hearty aromatic nutmeg and clove, wrapped in cabbage, with baby beetroots, crème parsnip and spiced jus, along with a wide range of other dishes.

Culture Wine Bar

Established by restauranteur and talented chef Matt Manning, Culture Wine Bar, well known for its stellar wine offering, will be shining a spotlight on the South African wine-making region with its offering at the market.

YARD

Loved for their pizza and chicken wings, YARD, home of the Dog’s Bollocks and Pizza Warehouse, will be bringing their stellar offering of pizzas and more. Patrons can look forward to four unique and authentic styles of dough bases, from New York Pepperoni to Juicy Chick, a pizza that features mozzarella, BBQ sauce, slow-roasted chicken, feta and peppadews, and more.
