Burger & Lobster was founded with the idea of going back to basics, to a restaurant culture where people were offered only a few menu items that have been developed to the best they can possibly be – a burger, a lobster roll and fresh lobster.
B&L also has a menu of unique cocktails – from a maple-and-bacon old fashioned to a cucumber-and-dill martini. Selected cocktails, draught beers and wine by the glass are served two-for-one from 4pm to 7pm every day.
The burger is made with highest quality natural beef from three different cuts of A-grade beef and the lobster is sustainable, sourced from South Africas South Coast or Maine, USA.
B&L offers three main meals: The B&L gourmet burger: a 250g pure steak patty stacked on a freshly baked brioche bun topped with two types of homemade cheeses, maple bacon, red onion, lettuce, tomato and home-pickled gherkins, which is then drizzled with a homemade mayonnaise; the B&L lobster roll: a lobster tail cooked in lobster butter served in a freshly baked new England-style brioche roll dressed with a light home-made Japanese mayonnaise and fresh onion chives served with our lemon butter sauce; Whole Lobster (either live South African South Coast or Maine USA) done two-ways – steamed or steamed and finished off on the grill served with lemon and butter sauce. All dishes are served with American-style skinny fries and a fresh mixed green salad.
Decadent desserts include an Oreo Nutella cheesecake or a peanut butter smore pot. Also on offer are monster shakes such as a Nutella & salted pretzel or Oreo Cheese cake.
The chefs have also created several off the menu items such as a Southern fried sriracha infused buttermilk chicken burger, lobster linguine, a 6 week dry aged sirloin on the bone, the Wolf Burger (Surf 'n Turf) and a vegetarian burger with a lentil pattie.
