We had an absolutely amazing evening at Succelent, with fantastic food prepared by Chef Werner and his team of young staff, cared for proffesionally by Richard. All that in a lovely setting of Succelent plants dating back to 1910! Truly a 'must exterience' for anyone that deserves to be treated to something special!
Delicious food - we drove an extra mile to just have lunch at Succulente. After a visit in March with a great dinner, we had to come back. We haven’t been disappointed. As a palate cleanser we got a bloody mary granite. Soooo good - tasted the tabasco at the end like a real cocktail. My first course was goat cheese creme brulée, followed by line fish. Delicious. My husband had shaved springbock with gorgonzola, berries and candied beet followed by dukkha spiced baby chicken. Desert was the best we got in a long time (beside the one at Rust en Vrede) chocolate spring rolls were the perfect end to a stunning lunch.
What an amazing meal - EVERY dish put before us was incredible. The ambience was good, the staff excellent. Bonus, was being able to watch the chefs at work. Meeting Werner was a pleasure, such a humble gentleman, who will go far in the food industry. Have recommended this restaurant to all our friends should they happen to be in the area - or not. Just get there! Could enjoy this scumptious meal, as we had rooms booked at "The Mo & Rose" Also highly recommended
This experience is beautifully set by amazing cacti and what seems like a dessert oasis. The background almost flowed into the menu as well with tasteful additions of the surroundings on the plate. One by one Chef Werner blew us away with his dishes. This restaurant should definitely be on your list if you are planning on being in the Robertson area.
We booked a stay at Mo & Rose at Soekershof without knowing that there was also a "star" restaurant in the park. We felt like Alice in Wonderland during the visit to restaurant Succulent: the welcome with champagne, the friendly and attentive service, the genuine interest of Werner, the design, the easy chairs and above all the view of the kitchen. There we saw chefs who clearly enjoyed their work, sometimes working together to make a plate as if it were a painting. But the most important thing is of course the taste of the food: professionals are at work here. The unusual but delicious combinations of texture, taste and color made for a true journey of discovery. And after we were also served the "star" breakfast the next morning - now with the fantastic view of the garden - but prepared with equal attention and love, I felt like I want to pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming!
We were a group of 14 and had a Wonderful food and wine experience at Succulent Restaurant in the Robertson area. We stayed at the Galloway Guest House, only meters away from this gem of a restaurant! Breathtaking views, service and food! Our hostess, Melanie, communication with me, to make this reservation was comforting and secure. Thank you for a great evening out in a wine valley, that is underestimated.
We recently visited Robertson for the Slow Food and Wine Festival and had the pleasure of attending the wine and food pairing at Succulent restaurant. Melanie and Werner and the team all made us feel very welcome. The restaurant has great ambiance with a lovely fire place and an intimate feel. Service was excellent, food was delicious and the presentation of all courses was outstanding. We enjoyed our dinner so much we returned the next day for lunch and were able to view the beautiful gardens. Again the food was outstanding and the service excellent. Werner obviously takes great pride in every small detail and presents the food artfully. Highly recommended.
What an amazing restaurant with wonderful owner and staff. The food was incredible for both dinner and breakfast! Such attention to detail. Chef Werner and his wife Melanie really go that extra mile. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back :) I highly recommend this beautiful place :)
