Owner's description

Popular artisan eatery SCHOON has relaunched in Somerset West, with a return to its core values and first loyal customers. The move comes after a strategic restructuring by husband and wife team Fritz and Chanelle Schoon, who recently closed doors at their central Stellenbosch address, after seven successful years of serving an expanding range of real food products.

Very friendly Your advice about “no corkage” is incorrect. They do NOT allow you to bring your own wine.
Best Croissants, fresh and crispy. Good cappuccino. Very nice and friendly service. Nice place for a short break.
The best bread you could ever find , and the consistency is perfect
In all sincerity, I keep on returning for the ambience, hot drinks (the salted caramel malt pot blew my mind this morning!) and fresh breads and pastries to go. I am, regrettably, yet to be wowed by a dish from the sit-down menu. That said, it's really all about the dough right! Which is always flawlessly fresh and delicious, and just makes you feel good. Service is really personal and friendly when it's not rush hour, and I love the idea of their "Bread of the Day" (a different artisanal bread made for every day of the week, excluding Mondays and Saturdays; but they serve their spread of "Daily Breads" every day of the week).
