Cattle Baron Grill Room & Bar is a classic steakhouse in a contemporary setting. As an inner-city restaurant, it provides a blend of all the elements that make for unforgettable dining experiences: a chic, upmarket ambience with oversized chandeliers and rich leather-backed olive green booths for big parties around solid light brown stained oak tables; informed, friendly service from the slick butcher-apron clad waiters; attentive management and owners, and a menu offering variety and specialty dishes.
It may be part of a chain, but the steak is genuinely great here. I tried the chateaubriand for the first time - it was spectacularly succulent and juicy. It turns out I'm not a fan of brandy on my steak - it was the first time I tried it - but at least know I know! Maybe there was just a bit too much? It sogged into the chips, which is not so great. The chips that escaped were good and crisp and golden, though. The beef ribs - which two of my friends had - were glorious too. They fell off the bone and the flavour was incredible. We preferred them to the pork ribs, which my boyfriend had. The decor is fab and warm inside - all crimson leather and wood.
