Boozy nougat and nut ice cream

All self-respecting Americans seem to eat their ice cream out of a tub. And while we’re not suggesting you shouldn’t, we thought you might like to make your own ultra delectable, seriously simple, TV-star version.

Serves: 6 – or at least it should!


1 litre good quality vanilla ice cream
100g toasted and chopped mixed nuts
200g chopped best quality nougat
100g chopped good quality dark or milk chocolate
¼ cup (60ml) (optional) creamy liqueur


Soften the ice cream with a wooden spoon. Tip it into a big bowl, then stir in all the ingredients and mix well to ensure even distribution. Return the mixture to the ice-cream tub.
