Oil slick floating on my red wine.Hair in my food.Management sent me a new steak so quickly it was still raw.
Obviosly no attention to detail by management. Most disappointing.

The waitrons are fabulous, the management was shocking in terms of how this restaurant was run. After I tried to give constructive criticism of the manager's customer service, he promptly order us to leave the restaurant, not to pay our bill and threatened to call security, which he did. I have never been treated in such an aggressive manner, just because the manager couldn't take constructive advise. I have to further add, that the owner was just as bad and non apologetic. We will never be back!

Service has always been hit and miss, food standard beach bar fare, location to die for and when our boys were younger the sand pit play area a God send, however ....... Now our boys (@10 and 12) have outgrown the play area and after a truly awful visit today (the first in a couple of years) we WON'T be going back! The service as ever was average at best, the food was truly awful, mean, awfully presented dishes, soggy fish and frozen coated chips, awful burger and tasteless mussels. After finding the fourth hair in my fish and chips decided returning it may be the best option! The child on the table next to ours insisted on playing football in the seating area, his parents seemed to blissfully unaware that this may affect other diners or that his ball had hit our table 3 times, this in a restaurant with a sunken play area and a stretch of beach literally a stones throw away to play ball on. A miserable experience :( thought we'd give Dunes another try after staying away for a while but never again!

Myself and fifteen others ate at Dunes 7 February 2014, we had guests celebrating their engagement who had on their last night in Cape Town chosen Dunes for a farewell dinner. All the line fish served to us during the evening was dry and bland, chips and wedges where cold and "side salad" consisted of lettuce, two tomatoes and onion. The calamari was tough and almost inedible, not once did a manager or chef come to our table and ask how everything was. We will not be returning to Dunes, and the most disappointing part was the beautiful view could not substitute for the awful and disappointing food.
