Social distancing dining 2021: Restaurants offering deliveries and takeaways

On Sunday evening, amidst a surge in COVID cases during the third wave, President Ramaphosa announced that South Africa would be returning to a level four lockdown. One of the biggest changes, that kicked in from Monday 28 June, was the end of sit-down restaurant service for the next fortnight. This means restaurants can only offer takeaway, delivery and collection services until Monday, 12 July. With the industry once again in crisis, many took to social media to let consumers know about their new offerings and to encourage everyone to opt for at least one takeaway meal in the weeks to come.

So, if you’re looking for lunch on the run or dinner for the family, why not support your local eatery?
